Who We Are

The South Essex Alliance Multi-Academy Trust is a group of schools that takes the UNICEF Rights of the Child as the backbone of all our work. Schools joining the alliance must subscribe to attaining the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award working in partnership to enhance the human rights we all share. This ethos is reflected in how we treat everyone within the multi-academy trust. We understand that we gain the respect of others by doing the right things in the right way, that human rights are given not demanded and that schools can be the crucibles of the changes we seek.

“Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.”

Malala Yousafzai - Pakistani education activist

To ensure we are working pragmatically towards this goal we adopt those strands of education that complement the UNICEF Rights of the Child Award. These are the International School Award, Eco-School Award and Healthy Schools Award. Each of these contributes to our teaching so our children learn to be happy and healthy we all need to prosper in a sustainable manner.

"Sustainability, ensuring the future of life on Earth, is an infinite game, the endless expression of generosity on behalf of all."

Paul Hawken - American Environmentalist
